The smart health market is booming. Wearables and other smart products in the field of health are multiplying and the EKG Watch 2019 is the proof. The smartwatch brand JM took the opportunity to unveil the very first analog watch capable of recording an electrocardiogram. Apple opened the door with its Apple Watch Series 4, JM continues and democratizes the concept. We were able to try it and here are our first impressions.

An affordable watch
If the ECG feature of the Apple Watch Series 4 has already proven itself in the United States by saving lives, it is still inaccessible in Europe (the watch must still obtain its certification in the European Union) and not very affordable, financially speaking. Good news, things will change with the JM ECG Smartwatch.
The new analog watch from the connected health pioneer and connected analog watches will arrive quickly on the market. The brand plans to market it in the second quarter of 2019 at a price of 129.95 euros. The watch is being examined for FDA (USA) and EC (European Union) approvals.
Several colors will be proposed at the launch. JM will then offer new possibilities for designs and colors throughout the year. We can also imagine that the new customization option of its line JM ECG will allow to choose among a range of colors of cases, dials, needles, type of glass and bracelets as well as background colors in such an extended way than its ECG range. But nothing has been announced yet for this.

A smooth evolution
Aesthetically speaking, the JM ECG Watch evolves little compared to the Steel. The brand retains the design of the analog watch. A good decision a priori since many users shun smartwatches because of their look.
As always, the JM ECG offers activity monitoring features (calories burned, number of steps, distance ...) and sleep (analysis of its duration and different sleep cycles in particular). You can use it during your walking, running or even cycling sessions. The watch even offers an altimeter.

Wrist ECG
But in the end, it is not the design of his watch or the fitness features that interest us the most about this model but its ability to record an electrocardiogram. JM ECG / EKG Smartwatch succeeds the small feat of finally proposing an Android watch capable of recording an ECG.
Achievable upon request, the Move ECG can record the heart's electrical signal in seconds. The goal is to help detect atrial fibrillation, the most common form of arrhythmia and responsible, according to the manufacturer's report, for about 1/3 of strokes (Cerebral Vascular Stroke) in Europe.
JM is particularly proud of this model that could help the brand to turn the corner and hopes to "change the game in the detection of cardiovascular disease" according to Eric Carreel, president of JM Smartwatch. "We have created a simple record-keeping alert system that can be worn every day, to record an ECG immediately when a symptom appears, allowing early management of fibrillation. "

So how does it work ?
The ECG Move wants to democratize the realization of an ECG, traditional medical devices often proving complicated enough it is true. To make an ECG, it's pretty simple. Just press both sides of the dial and wait for the watch to take the measurement. To do this, the Move ECG has 3 electrodes (two on the back and one on the steel ring around the glass).
The measurement can be done at any time and takes about 30 seconds. Once the recording is done, the watch vibrates slightly and syncs automatically with the Android or iOS home app, Health Mate. You can then consult your results. The app displays a detailed graph of long-term heart rate trends as well as a history of ECG readings. Then you are free to share this with your doctor.

A Simple Summary Review of JM ECG Smartwatch
This new watch, the first able to make a compatible ECG on Android, has pretty promises. Marketed at a reasonable price, it offers the functionality to record an electrocardiogram without breaking the bank. Add to that the usual fitness features of JM watches and a one-year warranty and it may be the best sellers of the sector.
